Steamrollers: Open-ended tubes designed to deliver a large, direct volume of vapor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can you buy glass pipes?

For the best selection on glass pipes, shop online - like at Smoke Cartel - online headshop. You can learn and browse from the comfort of your own couch! To shop in person, look for your nearest headshop. A few other kinds of stores, like adult stores or gas stations, may also carry glass pipes.

How do you smoke a bowl?

Smoking a bowl is usually done with a hand pipe, but can refer any form of igniting and inhaling dry herb (bongs, chillums, etc). The bowl itself is the round basin of the pipe.

Once you have ground your dry herb with a grinder, fill the bowl to your liking. Do not necessarily pack it as fully or tightly as possible, as this can restrict airflow.

Most pipes have a small hole on one side called a “carb.” Light the herb with a small lighter and inhale gently, plugging and releasing the carb. This controls the flow of air to the dry herb and controls the burn.

The smoke you inhale is called a “hit.” Many first-timers do not fully inhale properly and waste their hits as a result, so ensure that your breath in is deep and full. Some people recommend you hold the hit for up to 30 seconds, but this is not necessary as long as you have fully inhaled.

You may cough. This is normal and just the way it is. Even the most experienced smokers cough frequently, this is how you know you have gotten a good and proper hit.

Spoon vs. Bubbler vs. Chillum - What’s the Difference?

Spoons are classic dry pipes with a deep bowl and carb hole. Bubblers include water filtration for smoother hits, and chillums are small, one-hitter-style pipes perfect for minimalism and portability.

What’s the best material for hand pipes?

Borosilicate glass is heat-resistant and durable. Wood pipes offer a natural feel and rustic look, while stone pipes are heavier and retain heat well. Glass remains the most popular for clean taste and easy cleaning.

What bowl size fits most hand pipes?

Most hand pipes have a standard bowl size of 9mm–14mm. This fits small personal sessions and works well with most grinders and scooping tools.

How do you clean a glass hand pipe without leftover smell?

Use isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt. Shake the mixture inside the pipe, rinse thoroughly, and let it air dry. For resin-heavy pipes, soak longer or use a pipe cleaner tool.

Are hand pipes safe for travel?

Yes - small hand pipes like chillums and spoons are ideal for on-the-go use. Look for padded cases, smell-proof bags, or silicone covers to protect and conceal your pipe during travel.
