The "Medulla Oblongata" Wide Base Water Pipe

The medulla oblongata may sound like a pasta dish that has octopus in it, but it's actually the part of the spinal cord that goes into the brain and forms the lower part of the brainstem. Right now, your medulla oblongata is making sure you're still breathing and pumping blood. Sure would be a shame if something happened to it (we're Smoke Cartel, don't forget). 

This Medulla Oblongata rig may not be quite as important as an actual medulla oblongata, but it comes pretty close. The thick stable base holds the brainstem of the piece, with multiple phases of filtration making this brain so sophisticated it might technically be considered a living thing.
