'Campbell's Soup' Sidearm Hammer Style Hand Pipe

By Marble Slinger Glass

$ 280.00

A hand pipe with mad style.

This Campbell's Soup Sidearm Hammer Style Hand Pipe was blown by M. Slinger, a professional glassblower from Philadelphia, PA.  Slinger has taught glassblowing techniques across the U.S., Canada, and Japan.  His recent foray into filmmaking in 2012 brought us "Degenerate Art," a documentary about U.S.-based glass pipe folk artists.  This hand pipe is perfect for any collector of glass pipe art, and with the Slinger name it's a guaranteed treat for you and your dry herbs.  Like many of Slinger's pieces, this pipe is a beautiful earthy color that has been sandblasted black to use pop art imagery, in this case the Campbell's Soup logo.  Grab this pipe if you're looking for a well-known U.S. based name and if you're a fan of retro style -- this hand pipe will bring life to any smoker's collection.

How It's Made
Glass Spoon Pipes

Despite their straightforward nature, making hand pipes requires a large amount of training and experience. Glass artists start with a tube about four inches long and decorate it with a variety of techniques such as fuming, linework, etc. Next the artist starts to create the shape of the pipe by stretching the neck and forming the mouthpiece. The artist then carefully blows into the end of the tube to expand the glass and shape the bowl. They then push the bowl and pop the carb before placing it in the kiln to finish!
