I bought this piece when one of my original glass cyclone bowls broke. After using the tuff bowl, I can confidently say that the silicone wrap is very sturdy and will make it much harder to break the glass. However, in comparison to the original cyclone bowl, the tuff bowl doesn't have the dark gray rim coating, so it gets hotter to the touch (though still possible to handle albeit briefly through the silicone). Also, since the silicone piece is longer than the length of the glass part, sometimes your ground herb can get stuck between the silicone layer and the glass, which makes the bowl overall harder to clean than the original version. Still an awesome item and would recommend.

DON'T BUY
I bought this part believing it was a tempered glass chamber in a durable rubber sleeve. BOY WAS I WRONG! the glass was thin and brittle, no apparent temper. The rubber sleeve was nothing more than a cheap rubber hose forced over the glass. Within a days use, the heat shattered the chamber and it became useless. The standard chambers lasted for months with heavy abuse. This part didn't last a day of mild use. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND HEADACHE and DON'T BUY THIS PART!
